As a psychotherapist, I am witness to emotional, psychological and physical suffering. There is no magic fix. We are all individuals with unique life experiences. I meet people where they are to support them in their journey for lasting growth and well-being in a non-judgmental manner. My medical training provides the basis of understanding the science of the mind and the underlying flow of information through the senses.
Research suggests that the presence of the therapist and the therapist/client connection are the most crucial factors affecting the client’s healing process. Participation in years of meditative and mindfulness practices have taught me what it means to be mindful and how to cultivate mindfulness and compassion in the therapeutic relationship.
My client-centred approach utilizes mindfulness, self-compassion, and compassion, with cognitive behaviour therapy. With the focus and exploration of experiential strategies, this cultivates a therapeutic relationship that creates positive outcomes for the client.
